Bayou Chapter – Lake Ivan Moonlight Paddle

This event has passed.

We have moved the Moonlight paddle to Lake Ivan this Saturday. Bayou
Dorcheat is still quite flooded and we couldn’t prepaddle it to check
for dangers and stopping points. Lake Ivan is about the same distance
from Bossier, 30 miles and is in beautiful condition. We paddled it
yesterday and I was very impressed. The boat launch next to the dam
has good parking and a picnic area. The moonlight the last few nights
has been powerful even with a half moon.Should be great conditions.
The weather has been keeping us all inside too much . Come paddle
and enjoy a very nice lake. Remember to bring a light for on the
water, bug spray, a chair for after and some snacks to share. I plan
to buy some glow sticks to mark my kayak, just an idea you might
consider. Oh and drinks for the paddle . Hope to see everyone there.
