Some trail work will be going on April 17-19 and perhaps April 25 as well. As of January 2020, we are not sure whether the trail work will be construction of new trail or trail maintenance. Trail workers will camp at Tyler Bend in the main campground (sites #22-#26, no charge). The campground has potable water, flush toilets, and hot showers. Join to work for a day, the weekend, or the whole week. Persons joining for a week or most of the week have the option to pay $50 to help cover the coast of food and camp expenses and participate in group meals (Sunday dinner through Saturday breakfast). A 3-day option for $35 is also available. All participants are expected to supply their own sleeping accommodations, water containers, eating utensils, and work gloves. Safety glasses are also helpful for some tasks. Bring your daypack to carry your personal gear.  For those choosing to make their own arrangements for meals, you will need to supply your own food and cooking/cleaning supplies. The Park Service supplies tools but you may bring your own if you like.

The Ozark Highlands Trail Association now has overall responsibility for coordinating Buffalo River Trail work so see https://ozarkhighlandstrail.com/maintenance/ for more information and contact OHTmaintenance@gmail.com
