Name of Hike: Fossil Flats Trail
Location: Devil’s Den State Park, 25 miles south of Fayetteville AR on AR Hwys 74/170
Type of Hike: Dayhike, trail, loop
Hiking Distance: 2.4 to 6.0 miles, depending on group ambition
Rating: Easy, maintained trail with generally good tread
Features: Ron Stone will lead a hike up Fossil flats trail which travels up Lee Creek, crosses, then returns on the opposite side. Very moderate trail with varying lengths depending on how ambitious the group is: 2.4, 4.2, or 6 miles along the creek. Possible shallow wet crossing. Many fossils visible on creek bed along with evidence of early settlers and the CCC.

Meeting Place and Time:
- Meet at Marvin’s Grocery (former IGA grocery store) at 15th Street and and U.S. Highway 71 B in south Fayetteville AR for carpooling for a 9:00 a.m. departure;
- or, meet at 10:00 a.m. at the campground trailhead at Devils Den. The campground is located just over the bridge past the Devil’s Den State Park Visitor Center, past the Yellow Rock Trailhead.
Comments: Bring water, lunch, rain gear, gloves and wear hiking boots.
