Hiking Distance: 5.4 miles
Elevation Gain/Loss: Maybe 400 feet
Rating: Moderate, due to distance
Features: The hike will start at the Visitor’s Center and follow the North Rim Trail to the junction of the trail to Signal Hill which hikers will follow and have lunch. After lunch hikers will return to the North Rim Trail, but turn South and follow the Mossback trail, then the Greenfield trail back to the Visitors Center. There will be some minor creek crossings, but nothing that requires a change of footwear.

Meeting Place and Time:
- Meet at Northeast corner of the parking lot of Walmart on Martin Luther King Blvd in Fayetteville for car caravaning for an 8:30 am departure, or
- Meet at 10:15 am at the Visitor’s Center in Mount Magazine State Park

- Car caravan means we drive in our own cars as a group to the trailhead
Driving Distance: 110 miles from the Fayetteville carpool to the trailhead at Mt Magazine. Directions from Fayetteville: take I-49 South to Alma, take I-40 east to Ozark, go south on Arkansas hwy 23, cross the Arkansas River and in a mile or so take a left on Arkansas 309 which goes to Mount Magazine State Park.
Comments: Wear a mask and plan to social distance. Bring water, snack or lunch, rain gear, gloves, and wear hiking boots/shoes. No pets are allowed on any hikes, and children under 12 years are discouraged and must be accompanied by a guardian. Participants are required to sign a “liability release” http://www.ozarksociety.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/OS-Sign-Up_Sheet_rev4.pdf at the trailhead to take part in any Ozark Society outing. Everyone is welcome to hike with the OSHC, whether an Ozark Society member or not.
