Topic:  “How City Government Works”

Speaker: Teresa Turk, Fayetteville City Council Representative

Teresa Turk is a long time environmental activist, and is currently on the Fayetteville city council. She will give us insight into the workings of our city government, also some background on a nutrient trading system that the cities of Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville have been working on for a couple of years. Any agreed upon system required the unanimous consent of the four cities. Fayetteville withdrew its consent because of lack of controls and measurements, which are critical. Now it appears there is a movement afoot trying to circumvent the four cities unanimous consent agreement. Teresa can shed more light on all of this and ways we might be able to influence safeguarding our water.
