Highlands Chapter – Monthly Meeting: Wilderness Areas in Arkansas

On Tuesday, February 25th, Tom McClure will be our guest speaker. He will talk to us about wilderness areas in Arkansas and ways to increase and preserve the wilderness areas we have. With the buyout of C and H, the Ozark Society will be turning some of our focus to wilderness areas. Tom will educate us on what constitutes a wilderness area and it’s benefits to plants, wildlife, and of course us human animals.

PLEASE NOTE: The February meeting is NOT at the First United Presbyterian Church (our usual meeting place).

Directions to Fossil Cove are: From N. Gregg St, turn west on Poplar (if coming from south, turn left on Poplar, if coming from north, turn right on Poplar), cross the railroad tracks and go one block. Birch is on the left. If you cross the razorback greenway at Scull creek you have gone one block too far west.
Note: Because the meeting is not at First United Presbyterian Church, we will not have our usual light refreshments. Fossil cove has a food truck that serves pizza and breadsticks, and of course Fossil Cove has beer, wine and non alcoholic beverages.
