Bistineau Evening Paddle – June 25

Arrive at Lake Bistineau State Park at 6:30pm on Friday June 25.  Launch time is 7:00pm at the boat ramp.  We will paddle Clark’s Bayou out to Haymeadow.  We’ll circle the open water and around the little islands and then head back to the park.  It is about a 3-mile paddle.

Required items are your boat, paddle, and PFD as well as some way to light up yourself and your boat.  A head lamp, flash light, glow sticks, or battery powered lanterns are all good ways to make yourself seen.

Water and bug spray are also necessities.  It will be getting dark but it will still be hot.

After the paddle feel free to gather in the pavilion to hang out and tell tales about outdoor adventures.  We do not have any organized activities planned during this time, but we’ll be enjoying snacks and beverages and maybe a little music.  We’d love for folks to give BCOS leadership some ideas and recommendations on what type of activities you’d like to see in the future in regards to our education, conservation and recreation mission.

Also please remember that Lake Bistineau State Park has an entrance fee of $3.00 per person.  Over 62 and under 3 are free.  Also, if you’ve had a Covid vaccination, Louisiana is allowing state park entry for free.  Military and national park discounts are available.  If the office is closed when you arrive, please use the self-pay kiosk.  Thanks.
