Meet at 8:30 am at the McDonalds on Pines Road, off I-20 – Come earlier if you plan on getting breakfast at McDonald’s before the caravan leaves out 8:30am
Bring water and lunch for the trail.
Dress in layers, wear sturdy hiking boots and bring your hiking stick
We’ll caravan to the Eddie Jones Park for the hike (this is also the location of Chimp Haven)
Or we’ll meet at the pavilion, across from the silo at Chimp Haven by 9:00am
Over 10+ miles of some of the best trails around. Mostly single track with plenty of climbing. Very pretty area. Also has a 1.5 mile hiking trail that is beginner friendly you can walk, run, or ride. Restroom facilities are on site.
Driving directions: Take I-20 to Industrial Loop and head south. Turn right onto Woolworth Road and continue until the intersection with LA-525 (Colquitt Road). Turn right and travel to LA-169. Turn left at LA-169 and travel 1.1 miles to LA-789. Turn left on LA-789 and travel 2 miles to Mike Clark Road. Turn right on Mike Clark Road (next to Macedonia Baptist Church) and follow road to visitor center next to silo.
