Outing: Lee Creek Annual Cleanup
Date: Saturday, September 11th
Time: 9:00 am – noon (lunch and prizes at 11:30 am)
Car Caravan Time and Place: Meet at NE corner of Walmart Supercenter lot on West MLK Blvd in Fayetteville for an 8:15 am departure.
Details: The cleanup starts at 9am and ends at 11:30am, then lunch (provided) followed by door prizes. It is a fun day and a nice way to feel like we are doing something positive for the local environment, and the Ozark Society-Highlands Chapter has been a donor and supplied volunteers for many years. Attached is the flyer sent out by Boston Mountain Solid Waste, who are the main organizers of the cleanup. Wear work/hiking boots, long pants and long sleeve shirt, bring bug spray and water bottle, gloves and bags will be provided. Most of the cleanup is along Lee Creek, Hwy 220. a tributary creek, maybe some horse trails, and there might be a little bushwhacking to retrieve debris.
