Calvin St., Fayetteville AR Time: 6:30 p.m. social, 7:00 p.m. program/speaker, 8:00 p.m. short meeting Speaker: Fred Paillet Topic:  The American Chestnut Restoration Program after 35 Years In 1983 famed geneticist Charles Burnham started a member funded program to restore the chestnut to our forests. After 35 years and more than six generations of tree breeding the goal of restoring one of our most economically and ecologically important tree species is within sight. Learn how close the Chestnut Foundation has come to its goal and what obstacles still remain to be overcome. We have a short business meeting following our guest speaker.
