Potluck Lunch at 1:00

Come join us at the pavilion at Hobbs State Park-Conservation Center for a mid-day, potluck picnic. Wright’s smoked chicken will be provided by the Highlands and Sugar Creek chapters, so bring along your favorite picnic fare to share.  B Y O B (beverage) and alcoholic beverages are allowed.  Reusable plates and utensils will be available.  Electrical outlets and a refrigerator are available for us to use at the pavilion.

This is the time to regroup and kickoff the new season with time to visit over a good meal.  Having lunch at 1:00 allows time for people to come out to Hobbs earlier in the day or stay after lunch to explore, hike or paddle Beaver Lake as your time allows.  We have use of the facility all day starting at 9 AM.

Bring your family.  It’s a good time to meet people who don’t hike or come to meetings.  If you’ve not been to Hobbs State Park before, give yourself time to explore the beautiful Visitor Center. Also, below is a link to Hobbs that has a list of the trails.  Hobbs has 54 miles of trails, and the paved, easy 1/4-mile or 1/2-mile loop Ozark Plateau Trail (OPT) starts right at the pavilion.  If you want information on paddling Beaver Lake, give me a call. I can give you put-in location info.
