Event Details

Change in Plans:  Hike Sweden Creek Falls first; then hike BRT Boxley to Walker Mtn Road.

For tomorrow’s hike a couple of adjustments. We will do Sweden Creek Falls first, then drive to Boxley Valley to hike the Buffalo River Trail. The parking at the head of the BRT has much more room for vehicles giving us a better area for our apres hike social time. The beginning of the BRT has a wet water crossing of Smith creek and we will cross it when we return to our vehicles. When we cross coming back, we can just wade across without putting on water shoes since we are through hiking for the day, and we are only 100 feet or so from our vehicles. Meeting place and time in Fayetteville and Marble are the same. For those meeting us at Sweden Creek Falls, meet in the parking area on the southwest corner of the junction of Hwy 21 and Newton Co. Rd 9., which is 5 miles east of Kingston on Hwy 21. At that intersection on the south side is a large sign pointing to Red Star and on the north side is a sign advertising Azalea Falls Lodge. Meet there at 10:15am.
