The Sugar Creek Chapter has a quarterly meetings announced on the Facebook page. Programs cover a range of topics related to the environment, recreation and history of the Ozarks region. Guided outings include hikes to scenic areas in the region.

Dr. Neal Compton Celebration Day Compton Gardens 312 N. Main Street Bentonville, Arkansas Saturday, August 10th 2019 Free Family Fun for the community: 9:00 a.m. to noon Dr. Compton Day is a free community event for all ages to learn about conservation, environmental stewardship and recreational activities in NWA. The event is a celebration of Dr. Compton and the issues he championed in Arkansas and beyond. The celebration will also include the unveiling of our very own Dr. Compton Neon Sign, followed by a raffle drawing! The Sugar Creek Chapter of Ozark Society will host “Forest Forensics: Dealing with Difficult Trees - how to distinguish our often misidentified oaks and hickories" talk and walk from 1-3 pm Nov 17. Dr. Fred Paillet starts the event at 1pm with a tree identification talk at the Lodge at Legacy Village, 601 NE Greenwood Way in Bentonville, just east of the Scott Family Amazeum. A walk to identify various tree species will follow. Parking is available in the upper lot at Crystal Bridges where the walk will end.Find out more
