On Saturday, September 9th, will be the annual Lee Creek cleanup at Devils Den State Park. Our chapter has participated for many years.  We have brought home the ‘most volunteers’ paddle the last two years. The cleanup is from 9am until 12pm, with garbage bags and gloves provided by the Boston Mountain Solid Waste organization, who organizes the event.  When we arrive, we sign in, get our bags and gloves, and then head out to collect trash. OSHC has typically gone mostly together as a group to spots, but that isn’t a requirement. Starting around 11:30am we head back to the sign in location where the trash is collected. At the same location at 12pm, the provided lunch is served, with a drawing for door prizes.

This is always a fun event for our chapter, with a sense of doing something positive for our community and environment. For those who want to volunteer, for carpooling to Devils Den, let’s meet at 8am at the northeast corner of the parking lot at the Walmart Supercenter located about 1/2 west of I49 on Martin Luther King Dr. in Fayetteville AR.
