Name of Hike: 22nd Annual New Year’s Day Hike

Location: Lake Fayetteville, Fayetteville, Arkansas

Hiking Distance: 5.5 miles

Elevation Gain: 50 feet, mildly undulating trail

Rating: Easy

Features: Waterfowl, views of a prairie reconstruction area, Fayetteville Botanical Gardens, and the Lake Fayetteville Dam.  Entire trail is paved.

• Veterans Memorial Park, 4451 N Vantage Drive, Fayetteville at 9:30 am

Comments:  Bring water, snacks, rain gear, gloves, and a hiking stick, and wear comfortable hiking boots/shoes.  No pets are allowed on any hikes.  Children under 12 years are discouraged and minors must be accompanied by a guardian.  Participants are required to sign a Liability Release sheet at the trail head to take part in any Ozark Society outing.  Everyone is welcome to hike with the OS, whether an Ozark Society member or not.   http://www.ozarksociety.net/wp-content/up
