Name of Hike:  Hawk Hollow

Location:  Upper Buffalo Wilderness

Elevation:  Yes

Rating:  Moderate, following a very old, overgrown with downed trees, road

Features:  Hawk Hollow is where two streams come together and each has two waterfalls right before they meet and then form a scenic boulder strewn canyon/hollow that empties into the Buffalo River.

Meeting Place and time:

  • First Care Family Doctors South parking lot on the south end of Crossover Road in Fayetteville for an 8:30 am departure, Saturday, February 19, 2022, or,
  • At 9:45 am at the intersection of Cave Mtn Road (CR 1271) and CR 1410 which leads to Kapark Cemetery Access.

Comment:  Bring water, snack, lunch, rain gear, gloves, and wear hiking boots/shoes.  Hiking poles will be helpful.  No pets are allowed on any hikes, and children under 12 years are discouraged and must be accompanied by a guardian.   Participants are required to sign a “liability release” http://www.ozarksociety.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/OS-Sign-Up_Sheet_rev4.pdf  at the trailhead to take part in any Ozark Society outing.  Everyone is welcome to hike with the OSHC, whether an Ozark Society member or not.
