Name of Hike:  Ouachita Trail from the Riverview Center (the old Pinnacle Mountain State Park Visitor Center)

Location:  11901 Pinnacle Valley Road (old Pinnacle Mountain State Park Visitor Center)

Type of Hike:  Out and back

Hiking Distance:  4.2 miles.

Elevation Difference: 

Rating: Moderate

Features:  The terrain is moderately strenuous and does include some steps slopes near the trailhead. Trail is rocky, wear appropriate footwear

Comment 1:  Bring water, snack, rain gear, gloves, and wear trail shoesHiking poles may be helpful.  Participants are required to sign a liability release”  at the trailhead to take part in any Ozark Society outing. Everyone is welcome to hike with us, whether an Ozark Society member or not. .

Comment 2:  Toilets are available at the start and end of the trail. 

Comment 3:  This is “part one” of section hiking the Ouachita Trail.  We are attempting to break the first section into smaller distances (total 11 miles) and there will be 2 more hikes to finish section 1 as listed in Tim Ernst’s book (if starting in reverse order)
