Trail: Buffalo River/Ozark Highlands Trail: S. Maumee Rd. to Spring Creek and back

Good marked trail, beautiful vistas, lots of green moss, some wildflowers are out popping out

Distance of hike: approx. 7 miles

Difficulty of hike: Moderate?—the usual ups and downs

Meeting time: 10:00 a.m.  PLEASE BE PROMPT!

Meeting Place:  S. Maumee Rd/CR52 trail crossing.  Not far from Harriet, AR (at Morning Star) you turn off Hwy 27 onto S. Maumee Rd (there’s a brown NPS sign for S. Maumee Campground) and go about 5 miles or so to the trail crossing.  There’s a BRT sign at the trail crossing.  Parking is pull off to side of road.

Please bring lunch, water, snacks, hiking boots/shoes, proper clothing for the temps/conditions.  Bring your own first aid supplies, bug spray, sunscreen or whatever you need for the day.

Aprés Hike:  After the hike we will enjoy our own good company.  Just bring some sort of snack to share (chips, dip, hummus, cookies, cheese/crackers, whatever) and if you want: a drink of your choice.  Some folks bring a chair and little folding table.

We are just some experienced hiking friends who are casually meeting at a trailhead to go hiking.  Hike at your own risk; everyone is responsible for their own self/well-being.  Hikes are limited to 16 people.

No children under age 15 allowed.

No dogs allowed on Buffalo National River trails.

There will be an Ozark Society Liability Waiver for everyone to sign.
