Name of the Hike: Broadwater Hollow, Paige Falls, Mud Cave and Jones Family Cemetery

Location: Buffalo National River between Compton and Erbie AR

Type of Hike: Trail and social trail

Hiking Distance: 3.5 miles

Elevation Gain: 620 feet

Rating: Moderate to difficult due to rocky uphill

Features: This hike will take hikers past Paige and Broadwater Hollow Falls, then to Cecil Cove Trail.  There will be waterfalls, cascades, blue pools, wildflowers, caves and historic cemetery.

Meeting Place and Time:

• Meet at the JB Trading Company in Compton AR at 9:45 am.  JB Trading Co is located on AR Highway 43 nine miles north of Ponca AR.
• Park on the left (west) side of the JB parking lot.  We will consolidate hikers into as few cars as possible because parking is limited at the trailhead.  We will then shuttle to the trailhead.

When parking at the JB Trading Company at Compton, please
park on the left of the parking area. We will take as few cars as possible down to Broadwater
Hollow, only 8 spots.

Comment:  Bring water, snack, lunch, rain gear, gloves, and wear hiking boots/shoes.  Hiking poles may be helpful.  No pets are allowed on any hikes, and children under 12 years are discouraged and must be accompanied by a guardian.   Participants are required to sign a liability release at the trailhead to take part in any Ozark Society outing.  Everyone is welcome to hike with the OSHC, whether an Ozark Society member or not.
