Event Details

Peggy Bulla will lead an impromptu hike to Kettle Falls (called that in AllTrails, but a.k.a. Tea Kettle Falls) in the Madison County/McIlroy Wildlife  Management Area, Saturday, April 27.  (Note:  This hike will also be repeated on Monday, April 29, 2024).

Name of Hike:  Tea Kettle Falls

Hiking Distance:      3.5 miles, Loop

Rating:      Easy, but steep grade down going in and long grade up back to trailhead.  Hopefully there will be ankle-deep creek crossings, so bring water shoes.

Meeting Place and Time:

  • Meet at 10:00 AM at Chana’s Corner Shell Service Station, corner of AR Hwys 23 and 12, 11 miles south of Eureka Springs, or 8 miles north of Forum on Hwy 23.
  • Click on “Location” below or see Google Map link at:  Chana’s Corner – Google Maps

Driving Distance:  46 min from Fayetteville via Hwy 45.   From there we will drive about 2 miles to Trailhead

Description:  This needs to be an impromptu hike to possibly see flowing water through the “tea kettle.” 🤞 We will walk a closed, gravel road down to Warm Creek then follow it along the valley floor.  With an early spring, the poison ivy is in full leaf, and ticks also are out so come prepared.  The  valley floor offers lots of wildflowers.  The hike out follows an old access road so it’s a gentle but long slope.

Hike Leader:  Peggy Bulla, 479 586 2493, peggy.bulla@gmail.com, or sunnypegs@aol.com
