Our last meeting before summer break is Thursday, May 14th, and with a presentation on the geology of the Ozarks. At the beginning of the meeting we will have a short business meeting in which we will vote on the nominations for the Highlands Chapter Offices of (1) Vice Chair-Programs Chair and (2) Treasurer. Currently, one candidate is running for each position; Steve Singleton for VC-PC and Molly Saxon for Treasurer.

Speaker: Chris Moyer, Geologist
Topic: The Ozark Dome with an Emphasis on Local Features
The program will be presented by Chris Moyer who enjoys sharing his geological knowledge with people. He has spoken to other groups including the Ozark Natural Science Center and Northwest Arkansas Master Naturalists.
Moyer grew up in southern New Jersey, received his B.S. in geology from Arkansas Tech and his M.S. from the University of Arkansas. He worked in the petroleum industry for over 25 years as a domestic and international production and exploration geologist for ExxonMobil and Southwestern Energy Company, and as a geological consultant. He was a geology instructor at Northwest Arkansas Community College for the past dozen years or so. He is now retired, enjoying the culture and nature of Northwest Arkansas and beyond.
