Event Details

The Sugar Creek Chapter is partnering with the Nature Conservancy at the Logan Springs Preserve at Logan Community in southern Benton County. We are going to have a work day, picnic and hike on March 15 at 10:00. We will help with invasive plant removal and then enjoy lunch by the spring.

Logan Springs Preserve is a tract with a large spring within the National Wildlife Refuge. The spring run forms an oxbow lake before joining the Illinois River. There is a maze of trails bordering what was once a fish hatchery. Improvements include a lovely pond area with boardwalk and picnic tables. It is a sanctuary for birding and other wildlife. We hope you will take this opportunity to help with conservation efforts and enjoy the fall colors.

Chas McCoy, Watershed Specialist with ANC will be working with us and providing tools, snacks and water. Please bring work gloves, lunch and a water bottle.
